Ngamwanza needs your assistance
The owners of the plot where Ngamwanza Children Support Centre is located, have expressed wishes to sell the premises instead of writing a long term lease, which would have been the best solution for Ngamwanza. The present lease runs out in August, and before that date, it is the local committee’s, as well as the staffs’ wish, to find a sustainable solution. Donors and supporters are also doing their best to help us. Should you have any idea of how we could find funding for an eventual purchase, please do not hesitate to inform us, by sending an e-mail to the following address:ngamwanza@gmail.com.
About NCSC
Ngamwanza Children Support Centre (NCSC) is located in Ongata Rongai, Rift Valley Province, Kenya and takes daily care of 36 children in the ages 4 to 12. The aim of the centre is to support and cater for orphans and the most vulnerable children in the community and to help them achieve the otherwise impossible goal of receiving an education. Ngamwanza provides food, education, school material, uniforms, care and medical check ups for the children, whom in the most of the cases are orphans whose parents died from HIV/Aids. If the children didn’t eat at NCSC, they wouldn’t have any food at all.
The centre provides preschool education for the younger children and support and tuition for the children who have reached the age for primary school.
The children live with guardians, but spend time at NCSC every day except for Sundays, when the centre is closed. While the older ones get meals at NCSC and education in a public primary school, the younger children spend the entire day at the centre.
NCSC is headed by a local committee consisting of 15 members. Finances are assured by a Swedish Association, Helping Hand, located in Helsingborg.
